“While the tea itself doesn't have a super distinct flavor, the beauty of these flowers is that it can make some amazing arnold palmers (tea and lemonade). We brewed this tea up, froze it into ice cubs, and then put those ice cubes in lemonade. The tea brews up blue, but when acid is added to it, it turns a beautiful purple color. So our lemonade had blue ice cubes, but as the ice cubes melted and mixed with the lemonade it gave a BEAUTIFUL gradient effect of purple to yellow in the lemonade. I highly recommend you get some so that you too can make fancy drinks that people think are difficult to make (when they're really not!)”
“The butterfly pea flowers are a really fun way to add some elegance to the summer! I brewed mine and froze into ice cubes to throw into lemonade - it turned the lemonade a lovely shade of lavender”
“My daughter, nieces, and I had fun mixing this with different acids to change its color. We found that lime simple syrup and lemonade were the favorites in our family.”
“I made a tea with these flowers. It was very pretty and had a very subtle earthy flavor, almost like green tea (but not at all grassy).
Where it really was a show stopper was when I poured it into lemonade for my kids and their friend. I called it “Magic Lemonade” and the tea changed color (due to changing the pH with the citric acid).”
