“High quality and does just what it should
I bought this to plug my Chevy Volt into a 240 my neighbor had installed to charge his Tesla. There is just not a lot to say. It's sturdy and high quality, plugs in and removes easily from both the car and the outlet. The cord is good and long so you have some latitude in how close you need to park to the outlet. Does exactly what you buy it to do.
(Update) On further thought...a month later, and it is working just fine. I realize that getting charging accessories for your EV can be somewhat nerve-wracking--especially for those of us who support the technology, but are not complete EV nerds, and simply want it to work. I am always nervous that the support equipment I buy is built properly and won't cause damage to, or completely ruin, the car or the charge point. This charger has worked perfectly.”
“Solid performer, excellent build, fast charging
This charger looks and feels well built, very sturdy, and has a very precise and good connection to the car. I have a Chevy Bolt, and looks like it’s charging at about an average of 16 miles of range per hour. Love it. Great value. Will update this review if it fails to hold up, but so far so good.”
“Charges my 2018 Prius Prime in just over 2 hours. Fast charge is EXTREMELY important
Adding a fast charger (240V) seems to be a huge part of hybrid vehicles, and the faster you can charge the better. In my case I went from getting about 700 miles per tank (120V charge) to over 1300 miles per tank (240V). Charging in two hours or less typically means I leave my house on a full charge. And as most of my runs into town are 25 miles or less there isn't any gas used. I just filled up after 21 days and had 1360 miles on the odometer, and the fill-up was 10.3 gallons.
Before this charger I would only have a full charge once per day because it typically took over 6 hours.
Installation is easy, add a 240V circuit breaker and a plug and you're set.”
“Works for 2015 Chevy Volt Perfect
I recently moved into a 100 year old with no exterior outlets or a garage. Was in a bind trying to figure out how to charge my 2015 Chevy Volt. This allows me to use the 240v dryer outlet I have inside the house. The cord is long enough to span the distance of my house from the laundry room in the front and make it all the way to back of my driveway. It's worked perfect! Full charge in under 4 hours. No need for an electrician or a fancy charging station. Absolutely worth the cost. I've been using the charger for 3 months every day now completely outside, no cover in rain and snow and have not had any charging issues.”
“Solid, should last years.
Liked:
- 30’ cord. Solid and flexible.
- Basic functions, but really more than needed as most EV’s control the charging. The cord from your outlet doesn’t need to do much more than provide connection to car.
- Good customer service with the one issue below.
One issue (resolved):
- RFID, which rotates the charger between current limits, stopped working in first week. Replacement RFID received from Primecom and all fixed.
- related to RFID, could you document its’ use? Didn’t see any mention on the one pager documentation of what it does.”
