“I made a previous incarnation of this kit as a kid - back in the 1980s (actually the matchbox release). Was one of the most enjoyable kits I ever built. Good detail, kit went together quite well, and I ended up with a really nice looking model. Unfortunately the finished model didn't survive being stored in an attic for 10 years so I ordered this one for mostly nostalgic reasons !
Cons:
I much prefer the "custom" engine & wheel options in the matchbox release. Lucky I salvaged those parts from the wreckage..... though I will need to scratch build a different exhaust....
The AMT instructions are not as good as the matchbox ones were.
Pros:
The plastic parts all look as I remember, good detail, not much flash etc.
I quite like the rubber/vinyl tires -> the tread looks good etc There is a seam, but I don't remember having difficulty removing that with a sharp blade.”
