Hi Tj, Thank you for your feedback! These handles are reproductions made of plastic, designed to be as authentic as possible to Bakelite, which is a plastic-like material very popular in the 1920s to 1950s. Bakelite is not commonly produced anymore. They will feel lighter than a lot of our other handles that are made of solid brass, for example. “These handles worked perfectly in my replica 1950s kitchen. They could not have been a more perfect match aesthetically. I did notice however that a couple of them have developed small cracks in the plastic. Just need to be mindful that they are not robust, but they sure are beautiful.”
