“I was looking for something to both insulate my outside tap, and secure it to stop the kids from wasting so much water. I spent some time researching the options, and the RoBox product really seemed to tick all the boxes for what I was after. A number of competitor products seemed cheap and nasty (but being sold at a high price), or looked aesthetically poor - I didn't want to stick something expensive and rubbish looking on my wall!
The RoBox enclosure looked like someone had spent some time thinking about the size, aesthetics, and usability of it. Once ordered and received (very quick service), it came with a set of very clear instructions, which outlined diameter drill bit required for the supplied wall plugs (these are the better quality wall plugs as well, not just the cheap plastic solid tubes you often find supplied with products). It was quick and easy to install. The build quality is great, you can see that time has been spent ensuring all fixings are well located to maximise the lifespan, and it has a good quality paint finish. The lock and handle are exactly what I was after, and will keep the kids away from the tap! The insulation inside appears to be good quality stuff, and is well fitted/bonded to the inside of the enclosure.
The great thing about this enclosure, is that it allows you to keep a hose connected at all times. I've added a short run of hose with a double ended male hose connector so I can just use the tap as a tap, or I can easily connect the main hosepipe to it. In the spring/summer, I'll be able to leave the hose/tap turned on, and connected to a timer for trickle watering whilst away for longer periods, but then lock the enclosure to ensure the tap can't be messed with.
