“My students really enjoyed engaging in their learning with this kit. They enjoyed how it was hands on and allowed them to research and delve deeper into the topic of women's suffrage.”
“What an amazing, inspiring kit! The students loved finding out about inspirational women who changed the world for them and in their own country. They were super interested and went above and beyond to research and create displays showcasing the woman they chose to research, they emailed questions, found websites and other avenues to find online, interviewed their families about what they knew and were able to compare their findings to their own world. Everything from women firefighters, mountain climbers, pilots, politicians, doctors and how to break into traditionally male careers and areas of society.”
“This kit has been amazing. We were a little rushed at the end of the term to complete the work but I was super impressed with the enthusiasm from the students and our community. Our display looks amazing.”
“Some interesting artefacts/resources and we got a lot of good discussions. I presumed that there would have been a full-on Social Studies unit attached to this kit but there didn't appear to be.”
“I used the kit as a springboard for my Year 10 class to investigate what women were doing to promote all aspects of sustainability in our community. I felt that it was important that the students understood that without the right to vote it would be impossible for women to play a part in such important area for our society as sustainability. The kit helped me teach about the suffrage campaign in a fun and interesting way which captured the imagination of the students. It was then easy for them to move on to investigate what prominent women in our community were doing to promote sustainability.”
