How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? The conversations out year 5/6 had with one and other about multiple perspectives were very valuable. They asked many thoughtful questions and some managed to view our rich history from a range of viewpoints.

This kit was a huge success in our learning space. Our tamariki loved making connections and exploring our rich history. We loved all of the goodies that came in this school kit, the student made connections to figures of New Zealand’s past. It was very interesting to see a range of perspectives and become more educated about how our past has shaped the world we know today.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? By giving them different information and them having to discuss and come up with the idea that different people may view the same event differently.
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? This kit didn't change my perspective on teaching history as this is an area I am passionate about - it is just great that resources are being produced that support NZ History.
Excellent resource with very important messages. With NZ History becoming part of the curriculum in 2022 this will continue to be a resource that should be taught in every classroom.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? It really helped them understand and relate to other people's viewpoints and how everyone has their own opinion which may not tell the whole story. It was great to see this understanding transfer into the everyday classroom interactions.
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? It will be an area I will teach again and look for further aspects in NZ history to teach.
This was a fantastic inquiry unit. Both myself and the students learnt a great deal about a part of history we had no prior knowledge of.

How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? This was engaging and hands on. It opened my eyes to the resourses that are available for NZ history, and as a teacher I learnt so much that I feel more confident teaching this material now.
My students enjoyed this kit. - they learnt a lot about the different events and looking at it from different points of view. It has sparked an interest of many of the children in to learning about the history of Aotearoa. They especially liked looking more in to Captain Cook and looking at another perspective on this.
