As I saw it was an interesting and engaging learning experience for my students. They enjoyed the hands on nature and being able to assess and imagine perspectives that are relevant to the context.

I found this product very good. And the students found lots of things to discuss about. They loved the props and the historical element to it. I would love to see more like this in the future especially on different aspects of kiwi history. It has also taught me more about nz history as I am not a New Zealander.

How did this kit help your students to discuss the idea of multiple perspectives? We were able to use the character cards to help create a discussion. It could have easily lead to a debate. The students enjoyed the chance to write from the perspective of their character card and then listen to others writing.
How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? It has given me some great ideas about how to make teaching history more practical and hands on.
This kit was great! It was well liked by both the students and myself. The students found thinking about things from a different perspective incredibly interesting. They were very engaged and there were some very good discussions about what it might have been like to have been on both sides of the situation. There are lots of interesting learning opportunities across the curriculum with this kit.

How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? This kit didn't change my perspective on teaching history as this is an area I am passionate about - it is just great that resources are being produced that support NZ History.
Excellent resource with very important messages. With NZ History becoming part of the curriculum in 2022 this will continue to be a resource that should be taught in every classroom.

My students really enjoyed the unit. Especially turning our library into a museum. They were very motivated to make their own exhibits and show them to the other classes in our school.

How has this kit changed your perspective on teaching NZ History? This was engaging and hands on. It opened my eyes to the resourses that are available for NZ history, and as a teacher I learnt so much that I feel more confident teaching this material now.
My students enjoyed this kit. - they learnt a lot about the different events and looking at it from different points of view. It has sparked an interest of many of the children in to learning about the history of Aotearoa. They especially liked looking more in to Captain Cook and looking at another perspective on this.
