“A fab kit for the beginning of the year. Students love the charging station and check in tokens, which we have allocated a quiet place for. It has really helped them think about how they're doing and why. It highlighted that paying it forward when you're feeling green is a great way to support others in class. Students really enjoyed completing the journal activities. For me as a teacher it's been great for students to be able to communicate with me discreetly. With 30 students it can be tricky for students feeling overhwlemed to find time to talk to me 1-1.”

We had some good conversations around this and I feel the body image topic could have gone more in depth in the kit.

“This kit enabled my students to dig deep within themselves and feel like a unique part of our class whānau. I'm still waiting to see what the longterm effects are, as my students come from varied backgrounds and some have traumatic home lives. I saw that some students struggled with this kit's content at first, but slowly started to change their mindset. We set up the recharging station, which allowed them a spot in the classroom to take a 'brain break'. I thought this was a good topic for Term One, when we're all still trying to fit well together, especially after the past 2 broken and uncertain years!”

“The Dove Self Resilience Kit was great! I loved how interactive it was for the children but I also found it generated a lot of discussion and was perfect for the level of children I have and the stage they are up to (yr 5/6). We enjoyed the video on Beauty and having the pictures drawn about the way people described themselves. We had a couple of frienship issues during the unit and it was a perfect place to start about people and who we can be friends with and how friendship works. This was a great unit and I was very proud of the maturity it promoted within my class!”
