What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? It linked into our schoolwide inquiry topic around forces and energy. Our literacy programme was integrated into this topic as well.

My class really enjoyed the hands on nature of this kit and it was a great way to apply the theory that we had been learning in class about electrical circuits.

The Counties Power It Up kit was a fantastic, hands-on wat fro students to explore electricity and circuits. Using copper tape, batteries and switches, students learned how to build working circuits in a fun and accessible way. Engagement was high throughout working in their project books. They loved the colouring aspect, as well as experimenting, troubleshooting and seeing their circuits literally light up. It was a highly engaging resource that truly "sparked" curiosity in learning about electricity and energy.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Problem solving, maths etc

My students were excited from the start and stayed engaged throughout as they completed the circuits in the activity book, and built their own light-up pictures. Using copper tape and lights to create the circuits encouraged problem-solving and perseverence to make the circuits work. Some students handled the difficulty of solving the problems to make the lights work better than others, as some of the circuits were quite hard for them. The only criticism I would make is that the buzzers didn’t work consistently, and were difficult to hear, so many students couldn't tell if they were working or not.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We created our own circuits, so for art we created something we wanted to light up, then looked into creating a circuit for our creation.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? -
How did the activity help students make connections between circuit theory and real-world applications? This was used briefly in the lead up to solar vehicles
Useful for demonstrating simple circles. The copper tape kept breaking and did not make completing the circuit easy, Would be better if small cables were included instead.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Problem Solving, Literacy
How did the activity help students make connections between circuit theory and real-world applications? Using equipment to light the bulb makes the activity realistic & has real-world applications.
Really enjoy using the 'Counties Power It Up' kit to teach students about electrical circuits. The kids enjoy using the copper tape, batteries and lights because it is 'hands-on' learning. The activities are sequenced so there is progression in the level of difficulty. Students also appreciate that the drawings are of local attractions that they know and can relate to.
