“It was probably very good, but our farming trip was cancelled due to covid 19 so we never got into the unit properly. We concentrated on literacy and maths during lockdown/online learning.”

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? It provided an area of interest to engage students, but we didn't really utilise the opportunity to teach cross curricular. I can see if we had created our own farm, or used the think cards that this would have been better utilised.

“The students were engaged in the video clips you suggested. They really enjoyed the writing. I was teaching a yr 1-3 class and we did a retell on the process of grass to glass. The students were amazed at the facts they remembered from the videos. I also used the kit in a year 3-5 class and we retold the story of Fiona and the storm as a cartoon strip. I do think the maths resources could be more thought out. I ended up finding some other ideas that related to farming that were more engaging. In the younger class we created a bar graph based on our most favorite animal and vern diagrams sorting farm animals from zoo animals. In the older class we talked about splitting paddocks into fractions.”
