What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Planting the seedlings into the garden and then talking more about healthy eating when the vegetables are ready to consume.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Due to our focus on sustainability and planting and growing of plants - what plants need - our future focus when the plants are bearing food is the promotion of healthy eating and nutrition.

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We were able to use this context in our DMIC maths lessons, which made the learning relevant. We were also able to use it for instructional writing to write recipes.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? The students would like to learn more about the science of vegetables. They are interested in drawing diagrams and labelling them to display in our classroom.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students have learnt about new vegetables that they hadn’t heard of before. They have had the chance to try eating the vegetables raw and boiled.

“This school kit was a wonderful way to engage the students after coming back from our second lock down. They loved the idea of being in The Little Garden League and working towards receiving a badge that they wear so proudly. The students gained a greater sense of initiative and responsibility as they watered and cared for their growing seedlings. The school kit sparked great whole class discussions and the students have continued their LGL duties at home where they are educating their families. Photos have been shared with the teacher or students planting their plants in bigger pots at home. We have learnt how to care for our creation and have a healthier lifestyle. Thank you School Kit!”
