In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Through the narrative of Little Garden League this made the kids more open to trying vegetables that they don't really like or haven't eaten before. It also increased there awareness of how much vegetables they are eating and how many they should be.
This was an awesome kit. Having lots of different seedlings was a great way to engage the kids in growing and they loved being able to see their seedlings grow and being able to transfer them into our school garden. They really enjoyed being apart of the Little Garden League this really increased the motivation and engagement. They found it fun to do all the code crackers. We really enjoyed having the videos and journal/books to integrate into other areas of learning. I thought this was a great way to introduce kids to gardening.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students learnt about the different types of vegetables and the nutritional benefits of eating vegetables. Our students from Te Mahuri absolutely loved the the Little Garden League. Many of the students did not know the names of many of the vegetables. The students enjoyed planting the plants and really took responsibility for looking after the plants. They enjoyed watching their plants grow and were excited coming back from the weekend to see how they have grown. Yesterday we planted the little garden veges in the schools eatable garden. The Little Garden League code crackers were a fantastic way to hook students in and get them excited. They were very proud of their badges. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be apart of the Little Garden League.

My kids and I absolutely loved this kit. They were so inspired by the secret for a start, belonging to a club and learning to care for a plant and try new vegetables. The writing they did was fantastic. We did application letters as well as filling out the form and then we did instructions on how to plant a little garden! One of the best resources I’ve used.

It was been such a engaging activity for the kids. They have been so interested in watering the seedlings and the extra parts. They love the memory game and felt so special being a member of the little garden league. Our Inquiry topic this term was around healthy body, healthy mind, so this has fitted in so well to our topic.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Life Education visit about then need to eat a variety of foods, writing/reading, maths- measurement, time, calendars. School wide theme of statinability. We have also planted other seeds, sunflower, broadband and plants of tomatoes and salad greens

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? By being able to see the variety of vegetables etc that can be grown.
Loved the hands on parts of this kit. For NE students the codes and pledge was a little indept. There was alot of talking around what they were signing up for. The growing anticipation and excitement when the seeds came through has been great to share. We linked time/dates and introduced calendars as apart of maths investigation which was topical. Also linked nicely in with Harold and Life Ed. The only down side is we don't know what we are growing because many of the tags got wet and fell out. It will be a great mystery for us all. Many thanks

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Managing our resources, taking care of our things, using kind hands, - the table was very popular every day with kids wanting to water them. We used eye droppers so the plants could not get ";flooded";.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We had a few seedlings left over, which we will plant in our class garden in our outdoor space where we can continue learning about this.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Was a great way to open their eyes to the range of vegetables available - great to reinforce at brainfood time.
This was an amazing kit as always! It was especially useful as a wonderful surprise for the kids to come back to after the 2nd lockdown. Over those following two weeks, we only had half of our children back - this meant we could spend greater time teaching about taking care of our plants and enjoy in smaller groups the whole process. The children that came back late were ";begging"; each day to plant their one. Today we began sending them home and we used the badges to be revealed at this point - it hooked the kids in once again. A massive thank you for this kit!
