What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This was a great start for us to lead into the summer term and our Enviro School reflection which is happening in Term 4. This will have a growing, food to table aspect as well.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students have been discussing different types of fruits and vegetables. They are now more aware of a larger range of types and what they look like. They also are prompting each other and their families to eat and grow more vegetables.
The students really loved the idea of being part of a club and thoroughly wore and showed their badges off with pride.

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Thank you so much for this fantastic experience. I have yr3 and yr4 students. We made the whole thing a fun and exciting time for our students, who are loving taking very good care of their seedlings. It is such an awesome way to introduce to some of our students who do not get the experience of growing food. Because growing food is going to be ongoing in our school, hopefully it will be something our tamariki will continue to do later on in life. Times are changing and our children need to learn the knowledge of some important life skills now. From Room 5 and Room 4 at Rotorua Primary, we all thank you.

The kit has prompted many discussions in the class. Being Yr 1's they had many questions about what a league was, what a pledge was and especially how they might be more willing to try new things to eat. They loved filling in the questionnaire on their application form to join the league, and tis in itself prompted many in depth discussions about character and knowing your strengths and weaknesses.

This is a fantastic teaching resource, hands on resource. A big thank you to you and New World for supplying our Room with this kit. My class have been excited about growing their own vegies and learning how to care and look after their plants. They can't wait for the seedlings to grow big enough to be able to be planted out in their little garden we are creating outside our classroom.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Loads of oral language, comparison, writing names, club applications, reading labels &; jokes etc.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We will keep watching them grow and possibly look at what different whanau have in their own homes. Which vegetables are more common in different cultures.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? By lots of discussion in both buddy groups &; larger groups children heard about a variety of vegetables people had tried. This also started discussions on 'fueling up' and eating healthy foods to improve our brains and bodies.
Thank you so much, we followed the story and created the drama which was great. We used a tuakana/ teina approach to fill in the club applications and planting so each 5 year old had a 10 year old buddy and everyone loved it. The jokes were certainly out there. It was really lovely to eavesdrop and hear some students telling the buddies about their gardening experiences with their own whanau and a very wide range of vegetables that people had tried or were favourites. So lots of language, excitement and working together instigated by our little garden.
