How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? So far we have been using a vegetable/plant theme for reading and writing. Music: Singing fruit and vege themed songs. Some themed maths/code breaking sheets have also been completed.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Enviroschools: looking at the sustainability of our plants, where to plant them, how to care for them as they grow bigger. ICT: Researching and presenting information about our chosen plants.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students are able to name more vegetables and herbs. They seem keen to try a variety of food types.
Great resource. Kids were super excited about the New World Little Gardens, badges and codes. The Vege Patch matching game has been super popular. The membership application form was a little challenging for some of the kids (7-8 year olds) but still well worth the effort.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? cooking, providing food for others
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? I believe this will come as the plants grow and we get to sample them all. The children are beginning so see the importance of vegetables.
The children have been delighted but the little things this kit has shown them. First becoming detectives and breaking the codes. The magic of the 'growing' soil and finally the emergence of the plants.

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This was easy science aswell as agriculture. As a Maori school learning about hospitality and agricture is an important part of growth. It also creates a strong meaning for Manaakitanga and Whangaitanga.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? there are many opportunities when it comes to gardening and growing own source if food. It should be compulsory to do so in schools. It also has a special kind of energy when it comes to releasing negativity and grpund ones self.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? When planting the seeds and making the gardens, tamariki where absolute amazed at how many veggies there where however I observed that the planting itself and the growing and watering of the plants where more fascinating than the healthy kai.
This kit is amazing. The badges, play cards, the house even the plant bed for each pot. It all is amazing aswell as the being apart of a growing family of Gardners. The children definately were engaged in the process of gardening xx thank you very much. Around the time of spring is the most amazing time to start planting and tge tamariki can watch their own plants grow.

How effective was this kit in promoting healthy eating in your classroom?
In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? This worked well with our topic but was also able to provide students with writing ideas. They learnt math specifically about time and measurement. The maramataka and when planting was best.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? For us it has prompted our further learning with the maramataka. To use it to plan out long term gardening initiatives so food and gardens are sustained and gathered through the year.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Students are aware of healthy foods but rarely watch them grow from seeds to actual, edible foods. They were more open to try new vegetables and even if they didn’t like them it’s helped them to take risks with new foods.
Was a great surprise and fitted in awesomely with our topic and school-wide gardening. Students love watching the growth happening with their plants and writing their plant characters into their stories. Thanks heaps School Kit!

In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? My class has learned how to grow their own plant. They have learned what the key factors are when growing a plant.
I have 20 year 1s and 2s. There are enough seeds for all my kids. The leftovers were given to another junior class who started their little garden this week. My class was so excited after learning they were having their own seed. The seeds are starting to sprout. My kids are having fun learning about gardening and watching their plants grow. They have learned how to look after their own plant by watering them twice a day and putting them in the sun during the day.
