Room 21 loved the nature space kit! We are lucky enough to have a bush block at our school so spent lot of time exploring, building huts and discovering. The excitement levels were high when we found tiny foot prints and bite marks . The links to our literacy programme though the poems was really effective. Great range of inside and EOTC activities.

We FINALLY got it sorted with us all back together. What a fabulous resource. The pupils were very delighted to be out and about together in our space and noticed so many little things they have not always paid attention to. They are so keen they have been invited to share their work on this with other classes. A fabulous flexible resource thank you so much

First of all my apologies for forgetting about feed backdate. Despite being so far behind on completing kits this year this kit carried on very nicely with the work we have been doing in our shade house sewing seeds from native trees in the area and growing to then plant in our grounds and on the coast.Did not strictly follow the activities suggested in the kit but am sure I will use in the future. Thank you so much.

This kit was fantastic. It gave my students the opportunity to reconnect with nature, really observing and taking notice of the every day beauty we are surrounded with. Our Kowhai seedlings are still growing beautifully and are almost ready for re potting. Thank you for again providing us with such an amazing kit!

This was a great kit to explore with the class. The kowhai plants were tricky to grow but they finally did start growing. The children had lots of fun exploring nature!

What cross curricular learning opportunities arose from using Nature as the context? Great opportunities for language development, especially looking at the specific nouns to use to name flora and fauna. We integrated some of the work with our Garden to Table work and built in science, maths, writing and reading, social sciences and arts.

How has the kit impacted you and your students feelings toward nature? Students enjoyed growing seeds and the kowhai research project. Designing and making own greenhouses helped instil tech and design skills. Growing seeds at this time of year has had mixed results tbh

Great ideas mightily interrupted by COVID 19 lockdowns but has proved a solid foundation for this term’s depth and complexity learning.
