The content is well suited to a classroom and was easy to understand. It was a great way to start the year, building relationships with the kids and with each other. Love the Battery "charging" station icon, it has become a real place to go when a kid needs to rethink their behavior.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Covid hasn't really been a big factor in my class so far this year so this is not really a relevant question for me.
This was a great beginning-of-the-year starter for my Year 1-2 class. It aligned perfectly with our school value focus for Term 1 about accepting other people and being interested in others. My class are learning to include others and actively ask them to join in with them so having the sticker card as an incentive added a bit of fun and a goal for them to work towards. This activity was also a great visual for seeing who was branching out and who maybe needed a little bit of help. The box as a whole has some great resources. I've used some of the card situations for "speed dating" and getting students to discuss the topic on a card and then half of the group move around so they are discussing their thoughts with a new person for each card. The class recharge provided a great opportunity to talk about different energy levels within a class and was a great segway to start our zones work. I have placed the recharge spot in a quiet space and seen students sit on it when they needed a bit of space or needed to recharge themselves after an incident. Highly recommend this kit, especially with the younger classes.

I have really enjoyed using the Respectful Relationships Kit. In particular, tamariki have enjoyed the videos, 'Bridge', 'Just Breathe', 'It's all family'. amd 'Orchestra Flash Mob'. We have used the Class Battery a lot to focus on particular values of our school and for those tamariki who feel they need a boost to get some energy and engage. What has been really popular is our 'Play Dates'. We adapted the Play Lunch to short play dates in our class. This has been a very positive way to build relationships and in particular, as new tamariki join our class. As a result, I have seen tamariki play together, who I believe would not have if they had not had a play date. I have also shared the videos with other kaiako and classes. The Play mat was also a good resource to revisit and talk about friendships and feelings. Although we have not used all of the activities so far, what we have used have been very valuable.

Display poster in our room is a constant piint of discussion of the kids as they notice and discuss why certain characters have full or low batteries. Charge mat gives a clear indication of the zone chuldren can go to to reset

My class thoroughly enjoyed parts of the kit and other parts led to some really tricky conversations and we ended up only continuing with part of it. The lunchtime/playtime sticker collecting activity actually made relationships worse in the classroom, so we revisited some of the earlier activities and worked hard on maintaining respectful relationships and considering feelings.
