WE enjoyed the bi-lingual aspect. Our tauira were able to learn a 'new language' (financial literacy) in their own language. Our kaiako also benefitted greatly from it!

Which part/s of the kit did you find the most useful in supporting you to teach financial literacy and why? The envelopes with the scenarios helped my aakonga to think of the scenarios in real life (even the one with the alien).

Can you share any standout moments or student reactions while using the kit? I used the logic puzzle as a whole class activity and used Monopoly money to add a bit of competition. Both teams had a set amount to start with, they could earn money by demonstrating any of our values especially the ability to work as a team. Aakonga were also taxed for not being a good example including cheating - there needed to be proof of course. The video of the two mates using the orange and blue M&Ms to aawhina understand compound interest was really good.
How have conversations in your classroom changed over the course of teaching this kit? Aakonga made genuine changes in their thoughts about money, some shared how their whaanau discuss the use and how they save which was great.

Spend, save or save for later on. This was rhetorical phrase that I could hear aakonga using days after our sessions. Great resource!

I think this would have been a good unit but I found it hard to find all the resources that were needed to teach it in te reo Māori. Other units video links in both English and te reo were easily found but for this kit they weren't all there. This meant that my teaching of it was delayed and I had to adapt certain parts. I think I will continue to use parts of it in the future
