I like the roles students could explore and act out as being part of a team/committee but at yr3/4 this was tricky for us do and needed lots of input/direction. We did however find it easy to come up with lots of creative ideas and with lots of support again we could narrow down our thinking to something realistic that we could do.

The thinking and the steps for this one is good. But probably not appropriate for my Year 2s. Definitely good for Year 4 - 8. Covid had an impact to trying to squeeze it in. I would like to try this with an older class so will save this to try for an older year group. I really like the outward community focus which is important for our students to think outside and beyond ourselves.

During these difficult times this kit was a great way for our learners to show one of our school values of having a heart. They were able to brainstorm ways of helping others who were also needing a helping hand.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We designed and made games for the junior school to help them learn and practice skills that the class knew. It helped them develop links around the school with the seniors buddying up with the juniors, and the children worked on the project in their own

A good way to give students an authentic purpose for working together for the common good. Project allows students to have their say in what they want to do, and then utilise their strengths to support the project.

Unfortunately due to the two lock downs our class never got the chance to do this kit. However, the kit itself had lots of great resources in it. I do think it would have been quite hard for my year 2 class to do alone as it had lots of reading to do but it would be a great project to do as a buddy class.

The students enjoyed working through this school kit. They were familiar with volunteering, but using this kit meant they gained a deeper understanding of volunteering and all the ways they can volunteer and the good it can do.

SVA Kit I felt the concept of the kit met the needs of the kids in my class but the actual content was above them. We worked more as a whole team, and didn't really assign roles. We all did a little bit, but all did it together. My kids are Year 1s and 2s.
