Love this kit. Time constraints with camp, social dance, fun days, showcase days and a short term made it tricky to use in it's entirety. We focused on working together as a team and using our strengths for assigning roles. Together we all chipped in to help organise and support volunteer programmes around the school that help our community.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? As an IB/PYP school our students are often encouraged and subsiquently involved in community projects. For the Year 8s, this is a big part of their summative task. The kit was used to inspire action and to offer suggestions on how to organise themselves

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We made very crafty Christmas cards and wrote long stories for our local retirement village. We had heard that there are many lonely elderly people there and we wanted to bring some joy. Each card is a piece of Art and the stories are full of experiences

What type of project did your class undertake? Staying in Touch from Afar
This kit is great. The planning resource is very valuable. Unfortunately, I had to do a watered down version during term 4 as we had too many other things on. I will keep using this resource and do it again next year properly. This is such an important topic.

Loved how easy the kit was to use. Beautifully presented. Gave the tamariki real guidance to take the opportunity to explore what the needs were in our local community and build on those.

This is always a fantastic kit, the students love to have specific roles and duties for our trip to the local reserve. We are currently in the planning stage but I love how, through conversation, students find their strengths and those that others see in them.
