What opportunities have arisen for future learning from this kit? In can lead on to other scientific investigations, experimenting with different forms of writing - i.e. haiku.

How did this kit promote student engagement and enjoyment around taste literacy/fair testing/reducing waste? We didn't manage to get all of the activities done but I think the activities are well thought out and easy to follow. Hands-on is always a winner in our class.

“We loved this kit. It was full of great ideas with lots of flexibility built in. I had the kids cut and sticker the smell cards using sequencing. It was a great bit of authentic learning. The experiments really opened our eyes to the links between taste, smell and sight. This opened up lots of meaningful discussions during our eating time.”

How did this kit promote student engagement and enjoyment around taste literacy/fair testing/reducing waste? The students enjoyed the stickers and knew what a fair test was - we just had difficulty in executing some of the fair tests

“The idea behind the kit was cool but I found it not really practical for the whole class. The experiments were difficult to do whereby you had to split the class up and eat the same lunch at different temperatures etc.”

What opportunities have arisen for future learning from this kit? This term we have been inspired to integrate science into all different curriculum areas. We have seen the positive impact of hands on learning and how it can roll into all different areas.

How did this kit promote student engagement and enjoyment around taste literacy/fair testing/reducing waste? It encouraged predictions and reflections. The loved the hands on aspect of it - every child could get involved.
