How did this kit allow the exploration of energy transformation for your learners? They were able to relate the concept which we had learnt earlier in the year and show that they still had that understanding.

“My Year 10 Science class found this acitivy very engaging, They enjoyed building the cars and modifying them for the competition. They were able to apply the science conepts that we had learnt during the year to the car and explain the forces involved and calculated the speed of their cars. They were very excited to win the trophies during the races.”

What’s a sentence you heard in your classroom that would help us understand the type of learning that was taking place? Not sure if I heard a sentence that would wrap it up nicely BUT the kids loved the hands-on learning and especially the modifying.

How did this kit allow the exploration of energy transformation for your learners? It made them think about the sun and the transformation of solar energy to electric to kinetic. Most of them played around with shadows and how interesting that was too.

What’s a sentence you heard in your classroom that would help us understand the type of learning that was taking place? How do all the pieces work together, and how can the solar power be used by the car.

How did this kit allow the exploration of energy transformation for your learners? By putting it all together independently the students could see how the pieces all worked together, giving them a hands-on approach to solar power

“The cars were well recieved by the students. Having it all ready in the package made it easier to manage as a teacher and a wider group of students were able to participate. The directions within the package made it an independent activity. The welding section was a little tricky to manage with such a large group. The final build was impressive and helped the students to understand how solar power is put together.”

“Great unit. Used our yr 4's to assist our Yr 3's (buddy system) Practical, hands on unit which appealed to our students especially our boys. Especially appealing to our children with a scientific/inquiring mind.”
