“Awful. We were only away for 4 weeks and the solar system didn’t work. Flat battery and a 3 hour wait for the breakdown company. Seems like a waste of money.”

We’re really sorry to hear about the experience you’ve had, that’s certainly not the outcome we want for any customer.
Without being able to investigate the vehicle’s battery health or any potential parasitic drain on the system, it’s difficult to say with certainty why the solar maintainer wasn’t able to keep the battery sufficiently topped up. The recent cold snap can also significantly reduce battery performance, especially if the battery was already weakened before you left the vehicle.

“Plugged into our Citroen Relay camper to keep the battery topped up as it is parked up for long periods, works perfect and starts up 1st time, we leave the solar panel inside the cab on the dash board which works fine for charging.”
“The negative aspect of this product is that there is no way of telling if is actually working unless you connecrt it to a multi-tester which is just too faffy. Some indiction that it is actually producing a charge would be very welcome. As it is I have to take it on faith that a c£50 product is doing its job. Would it not be possible to include a small LED indicator (maybe switchable to save power)?”
“Left my car in a U.K. airport carpark over Christmas 2024 whilst I was abroad for 13 days - with the RSP2000 20W solar battery maintainer connected using the purchased ODB11 ring power cable for solar panels. I had read about car batteries discharging when they went unused for a few weeks, especially in cold weather, so was concerned that it might not start when I arrived home!
Car batteries discharge slowly when the car is unused, not only because of cold weather, but also because of the constant electronic power drain caused by the locking and security system powered-up 'listening' for the unlock signal from the key fob and so on.
When I arrived home the car unlocked and started immediately with no issues. I'm glad that I bought this solar battery maintainer and will use this in future when leaving my car for an extended period as it certainly does work and is well worth the money for peace of mind!”
