The Skar Audio SPX-65C - 6.5-inch 2-Way high performance component speaker system delivers unequivocal sound quality and performance for the most enhanced listening experience. The SPX series was engineered to be efficient and powerful, all while sounding incredible at the loudest volumes. Featuring a premium butyl rubber surround and a PMI composite multi-layered cone, as well as a high temperature 1.25-inch voice coil, every aspect of these speakers is of the highest audiophile grade.

The PMI composite multi-layered cone coupled with the premium butyl rubber surround of the mid-range portion of these speakers allow them to be extremely responsive across a wide range of frequencies. Furthermore, the SPX-65C component speakers feature 1-inch high-fidelity aluminum dome tweeters that deliver incredibly rich, crystal clear highs.

With this being a component set, in addition to the 6.5" midrange speakers, we include (2) aluminum dome tweeters, (2) passive crossovers, (2) speaker grilles and all the necessary mounting hardware. The SPX-65C is the perfect option when looking to upgrade your vehicle sound stage.

“Mixed feelings overall. The speakers themselves are fantastic — they sound great, handle a ton of power, and deliver clean, rich output. No complaints there. But the crossovers are not dependable. All four of mine failed over the course of about two years, mostly due to the tweeter attenuation switches wearing out from vibration (subs + road noise). After removing the switches and hard-soldering the pins to my desired attenuation setting, three out of four worked again. The switches also corroded easily — understandable since I live in Florida, but still disappointing. I reached out to Skar to purchase a replacement crossover, but was basically told to buy an entirely new speaker set, which felt like being brushed off. Ironically, I later damaged one of the woofers while working on my door panel and ended up buying another full set of SPX 6.5s anyway because the speakers themselves perform so well. I had my original SPX set for about seven years, so I’m hoping the crossover issues have been improved in the newer batch. Bottom line: Awesome speakers for the price with great sound and power handling, but Skar really needs to address the reliability of the crossovers.”

“One speaker was not up to par so I’ve anthem back to get another one or set Other than that they sounded great The one speaker started having a burn smell so I don’t want to chance anything so I took them out and boxed them up in original packaging for your inspection sent them out Monday of this week ground UPS”
