“I am typically skeptical of this type of product. Boy, was I wrong. I have two 10 year old cats, and they are the definition of persnickety and picky. Always sensitive to smells, and a tad spoiled, if they do not deem their boxes "acceptable", I will pay the price with a nice surprise on my clean laundry basket. Skout's Honor Litter Box Deodorizer is a game changer. Each week, when the litter boxes get changed, they also get sprayed down with this wonderful product post washing. This product helps to keep the plastic boxes from absorbing odors, and keeps the litter box essentially smell free the entire week along with daily scooping. Additionally, we have noticed that guests come over and comment that they cannot tell that we have cats! That's a great feeling in a small apartment. “I received my Skout's Honor quickly - but it came without a sprayer (fulfilled by Amazon, packing oversight) so I had to wait to receive the spray bottles I ordered to use it. So far, in just a couple of days, the litter boxes are fresher, the house generally smells better, and it doesn't seem to have any of the harsh cover-up smells that quickly fade. Long lasting freshness from a spray or two a day. Overall very happy.Today I fell in love with it though- I had a sick cat that ended up having several accidents on the carpeting- it was a nightmare to clean up, and one of the worst-smelling messes I've had to deal with. Once the mess was cleaned up I sprayed the still-foul-smelling carpet with Skout's honor, and went to work- and when I came home I no longer felt the need to replace all of our carpeting. “UPDATE - APRIL 1, 2016 -If it were not for the product coming without a sprayer or at least a reclosable bottle, I would change my rating from a 3 star to a 5 star review. If the product came at least with a cap, with indication in pictures and description, that it does NOT have a sprayer, I would still have given it 5 stars. Anyway - why my change of mind on the product itself (see my original post immediately below)? I spoke to soon. I sprayed this stuff. As stated previously, it only appeared to be making a poor attempt at a noxious cover-up. But, guess what? When the "scent" dissipates, so does the ODOR! I highly recommend this stuff. Not only does it kill odors, it is also good to use in litter boxes with corn/wood based kitty litters to (a) control odor; (b) stop your cat from sampling said litter; (c) reduce the bugs this type of litter (along with the stench of cat poo) tends to attract. This product made a HUGE difference. Now, I don't notice the smell of box, the boys don't eat out of their toilet, we all can enjoy the benefits of plant-based litters, and we are al now living happily together. For the price paid, the least that should come with the stuff is a reclosable lid. And it should not be advertised with a picture of the product with a sprayer. And that is at a minimum. A sprayer should exist as a standard. The product is okay. I bought this because my two very sweet 7 month old boy kitties STANK when they use the toilet. PHEW! I was looking for something to break through the stench until i can find out what is going on with these fellas. I just adopted them two weeks ago. i have had 2 other cats in closed quarters. NEITHER of them smelled (unless i let the litter box get dirty). I clean up after these boys at least once per day. However, there is no "wow" factor for me with this product. It really does not do better than any other "okay" deodorizers out there. It almost seems like it masks more than eliminates. I am looking for a good solid odor eliminator.”
