MGC2 Precision Mitre Gauge Fence Reviews

Very well made and put together. The slot bar sits quite snugly in the 19.5 x 9.5mm T-slot and the adjustable ball bearings take up any remaining slack. Some small irks though - for context I am a woodworker not a metal worker and I have purchased this mitre / crosscut guide to use with my Record Power Sabre 350 Bandsaw: (i) there is only one small interface with the T part of the slot (3 would be much better); (ii) as a result of (i) when you pull up the sprung plunger to disengage the positive stop at 90 degrees, 45 degrees etc, the whole bar is tugged out of the slot and the spring is in any case way way too stiff for the job it does - its really hard to pull the plunger up; (iii) the handle which locks the angle of the fence is just disproportionately big and plasticy; if it is intended to be used as a guide handle for sliding the fence down the slot then it isn't functional as most people will hold the workpiece against the fence with two hands and then use this arrangement to send the workpiece through the blade; and finally, surely the MGC2 Precision Mitre Gauge FENCE should come with.......a fence! The piece of cast iron it does come with is certainly not a fence. Consequently most woodworkers at least will make a fence with an adjustable slot so it can vary with the chosen angle and hence accurately support the workpiece right up to the blade and they will bolt it on to the MGC2 using the 2 holes provided and secure it using proprietary knobs or cam locks (now of course the big plastic knob which locks the angle just gets in the way and needs to be replaced by something smaller). I hope you are able to accept this review in the spirit in which it is intended - fingers crossed!
