“I usually make this sort of thing but being up to my eyeballs in "stuff". I wanted a small bender and I thought £50 was reasonable. The bender is nicely made and it is sturdy enough for the sheet thicknesses stated. Using "G" clamps can be a bit of a pain, I might drill and tap for some threaded rod and thumb screws to clamp the material down.
That job has been added to the "stuff" list.
It is designed to be bench mounted but I fixed it to a piece of 38x63mm timber so it will fit into a bench wood vice.
I've only used the bender once to make a small aluminium box using 1mm perforated sheet. It bent that without any trouble. Out of interest I put in a 1" wide piece of 3mm aluminium. It was immediately obvious from way the bender started to flex that it was well above it's capability so I didn't try.
