Naos blue Reviews

Happy with my Sternglas Naos watches I like the Sternglas Naos. I couldn’t decide on which of the available models to get, from just photos. Therefore, I ordered four different versions: 1. White dial, shiny polished stainless steel body. 2. Black dial, shiny polished stainless steel body. 3. Blue sunburst dial, shiny polished stainless steel body. 4. Naos edition Basalt, grey sunburst dial and brushed stainless steel body (limited edition). My intention was to keep one and send the others back. However, I decided to keep two: the white and blue dialed ones. I like them both, but I must confess the white dialed one is the one I use the most. It is very versatile and goes with all kinds of straps and clothing. Talking about straps, when ordering the four watches, I made sure to get each one with a different strap, to get a real-life impression of the various strap options as well. Conclusion: I don’t care for the Premium-series straps - they seem dead and boring - too uniform in their color and texture. I much prefer the more natural leather look of the Vintage series straps. One of the straps I kept was the Milanaise stainless steel strap (was bought with the blue Naos). It is rather course in its weave, and heavy, and as I don’t have large wrists, the excess length bothers on the side of my wrist, so I haven’t really used this strap. I have since bought additional straps from other places. I like the ability to quickly change straps. The strap can make a very big difference to the expression of the watch, and can be chosen according to the occasion and/or to match your clothing. I also bought a couple of different blue watch straps and they go well with both of the watches I kept. I am especially fond of a braided melange perlon strap in deep navy blue (see photos). The blue hands on the white dialed Naos and the blue dial of the other, make a blue strap seem an obvious choice for these watches, and I find it strange that Sternglas haven’t thought of a blue strap as an option. As for the actual watches, there is really only one thing I would like to be different - I miss a second hand. At a body thickness of 6 mm, plus extra height due to the curved crystal, it’s not an _extremely_ flat watch, and I think there should be room for a second hand. You may argue that I could get the Naos Automatic, if I want a second hand. I would never buy that. Why? The thickness. I would not want any watch thicker than the quartz-movement Naos! Overall, I am very pleased with my Sternglas watches and with the buying experience, including the return and refund procedure of the two watches I did not keep.

This is a beautiful watch and I love it. At first I thought the dark blue face would keep me from telling the time but the silver hands pick up light even when little light is available.
