“GMT setting is not precise (almost like a blacklash issue). Takes a few tries (guesses) to get the offset right for the GMT arm to be set correctly. Second hand doesn't align with dial marks during movement.”

Thank you for your honest feedback! We are sorry to hear that setting up the GMT arm was challenging. We always aim for simple but useful functions and are sorry if we could not provide you with such an experience. Regarding the second hand. thank you very much for your message. I'm really sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with your timepiece. In production, the second hand is pressed onto the second pinion. While it is theoretically possible to align it perfectly with the markings on the dial, it is a highly complex and time-consuming process that is typically reserved for high-end watches with four-digit price tags.
Furthermore, since the second hand moves every second, even a tiny discrepancy of a thousandth of a millimeter can cause the hand to deviate by 1 mm after 1,000 seconds. This is unfortunately normal in everyday use, as the second hand can be influenced by environmental factors such as magnets (e.g., in electronic devices) and others. It is not feasible for us to achieve greater precision while staying within our price range.
I consulted our watchmaking workshop to inquire about the possibility of adjusting the second hand afterwards. The watchmaker informed me that it is technically possible but not recommended, as it would require disassembling the entire watch. Moreover, due to natural influences, the hand could potentially deviate again after some time, rendering the adjustment temporary.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused by this effect. If it bothers you to such an extent, you are welcome to return the watch free of charge. We also offer various quartz models without a second hand, which might suit your preferences. :)

“Quality and accuracy is fantastic. The watch is very comfortable and I’m almost always wearing it. I have not gone for a swim with it yet even though it is rated for 10 atm, however I don’t think I’d go snorkeling as the crown is not a screw down style, I’d just hang out in a pool to be on the safe side. Either way I love the GMT function and I’ll definitely be using this as my travel watch so I can keep track of home time. Love this watch and can’t wait to buy another Sternglas zeitmesser!”

“I am very pleased with the Taiga GMT. It has a perfect simple, elegant aesthetic the allows me to dress up or down with it. Its slim build also allows me to wear it comfortably with a suit. The watch is so light that I forget that I am actually wearing a watch (seriously - I've entered the shower with it on several times). The GMT is not a pretentious watch and is a perfect go-to casual watch. If I could change one thing about the watch, it would be its Vintage strap. The leather seems a bit stiff. I will likely swap the strap out for a more supple leather one. Overall, the GMT offers an excellent, handsome watch at a reasonable price.”
