You're right that scratches become apparent quickly on this strap. This is because the strap is made of Italian vintage leather, which matures over time due to external influences.
You will notice that this makes your strap beautifully supple over time and exceptionally durable. :)
However, if you don't like this look, feel free to visit our interchangeable strap page. We also offer smooth leather straps. :-)

“I love the larger width in this and how it wears on my wrist (7”) compared to the original. Couple of things I noticed - even though I had the watch on my wider it stopped after I didn’t wear of couple of days. I thought it’s self winding but will check again for accuracy. Also the leather strap that came with blue/bronze model is much faded looking compared to what is displayed on the website. I still love the original brown that came with my other sternglas or how it’s displayed on the product page , I might have to buy another strap just because how light this is compared to what I expected. Overall a great watch as always!”
