The Steve Glide OFF is indeed an elastic band with Velcro, this is also stated in the product description.. However, I would like to point out that taking off the stocking using the Steve Ring OFF (included with the Steve Complete set), is a lot more comfortable and this tool is really designed for taking off the stockings. Here we have developed a leg-lift system, which makes it very easy to take off your stockings yourself as well. If you are looking for more comfort and putting on and taking off your stockings without bending over or lifting your leg, I can definitely recommend this donning aid.
