The Sunfood Difference™Spirulina is a microscopic blue-green algae named after its tiny spiral shape. Legend has it that the Aztecs skimmed spirulina from the surface of lakes and ponds, sun-drying the harvest into small, nourishing superfood cakes. Chlorlphyll in spirulina gives it a deep emerald-green color.
After harvest, our spirulina is ground into a paste, pressed into spaghetti-like strands and gently air-dried at low temperatures. This process creates that satisfying crunch and flavor of Spirulina Crunchies®.

I saw all the reviews saying these were super yummy, so I was ready to love them right away, but they actually had to kind of grow on me, and now I'm hooked!

They are delicious! I eat them by the spoonful. They don't make it to my salad or smoothie, so I don't know how they taste that way. My body is so grateful!!! This product makes protein digestion easy and fun. It does stick to my teeth a bit, so I wash it down with homemade lettuce-celery-tomato juice for a low calorie, high protein meal. Sure beats tuna fish!!

Chlorella (tablets) and spirulina (crunchies) have similar health benefits but I personally prefer the taste of chlorella tablets. I do like the crunch of these, but the taste is definitely one to be acquired. Five stars for the benefits.

I like to add the crunchies to my smoothies. I love how they soften up but still retain their form when blending them in. I like to squish them in my mouth with my tongue. I find it entertaining the way they turn bluish in color making people wonder "what are you drinking?!" I find that they help me to get more green into my diet and its nice to read about the anti inflammatory benefits here.
