“There are 2 funicular rides from Cassarate. The first is an older shorter ride, which we took around 9:30am. Then the next funicular ride we needed to wait 30 minutes before it took us to the top of Mt Bre. The views were amazing and 2 restaurants at the top to choose from offering beautiful views. If you wish to see Mt Bre village it is about 15-20min walk down steep steps. It is not recommend for people with bad feet and higher attitude makes tough conditions .
We took the bus for 2 Swiss franks from Mt Bre to Lugano central. Unfortunately, we paid for a round trip ticket on funicular which we only used one way. The steps going back to the funicular from the village would have taken 30minutes and extremely steep stairs to climb, unless your in excellent hiking condition I would reckoned taking the bus as we did.
Also, there are not a lot of directions or help to navigate yourself around once you get to the summit.”
