Please note that a seat reservation is mandatory for the Bernina Express. However, this is not required for the regional trains running on the Bernina route – this is clearly communicated. For these trains, only a valid ticket for the journey is required. Through our platform, you can purchase both seat reservations and the corresponding ticket.

“Absolutely amazing experience with stunning views. The only reason I’ve given a 4 star rating and not 5 is because in the panoramic carriage you cannot open windows, which we knew, but the reflection in all photos was disappointing. However, we caught a regular Bernina train back to Tirano on which and we could open windows and we got stunning photos!
Also, be careful when booking as we thought we had booked train tickets but we had only secured seats in the panoramic carriage, you have to book a train ticket also.
Finally, be careful with train times if doing a day trip….last train from Tirano to Milan was about 8pm but you need to ensure you have enough time to get back from Chur or St Moritz to make the connection.”
