“I normally don’t buy new clothes direct from retail, but I fell in love with this design and decided to splurge. I am a seamstress and work in apparel design and I am disappointed to say that the appliqués on this garment were applied very messily. The top stitching is uneven and even skips stitches in some parts. There are loose, frayed edges of threads still attached that should’ve been removed in sewing or inspection. And worst of all, the top stitching along the raw edges of the appliqués is uneven, so there are raw edges of the appliqué fabric exposed past the stitch line that will begin to unravel and fray after wear and wash. I know that appliqués are difficult to sew and this item is being made for mass production. But at a certain price point, certain quality is expected. I might not have been so disappointed if the price more accurately reflected the quality of the garment. I will say that I can’t find any issues with the structural seams and I like the fit, but my eyes keep getting drawn to the sloppy stitching.”
