I am about 6 weeks into the treatment. I have white skin and thick, coarse, black body hair. I always use a level 7 and have found that it is almost painless and doesn’t get too hot. I started out on bikini line, arm pits, “happy” trail, and then started my legs about 2 weeks in. I waxed for about two years before going into this, but personally level 7 does not hurt at all. In some more sensitive areas it feels like a hot splash or rubber band but it does not hurt or compare to waxing by any means. I exfoliate and try to get as close of a clean shave as possible before each session and I always moisturize after.
I noticed the fastest results in my bikini line and legs. The slowest on my armpits. My armpits grew back as normal and I feel like they’re only starting to slow down this week (end of week 6). My bikini line and legs slowed down almost completely by week 4-5, but I noticed differences by start of week 3 for both. The results are amazing. I am truly baffled that a device like this can eliminate something i’ve spent so much time, pain, and insecurity on. Unlike waxing, I’ve found that since starting Nood i’ve had zero ingrown hairs, which has also been such a struggle and insecurity for me, especially during bikini season.
I have a small tattoo on my ankle and didn’t realize I was over it when I was doing a treatment. The pain was terrible and I immediately blistered. You can only make that mistake once, but if you have tattoos over your hairy areas, this product is not for you.
Also, always wear sunglasses! I’m not sure you have to, but the flashes are bright even when pressed on the skin.
Cons: the automatic flasher setting is slow. I don’t believe the suggested times on the box. I think other competitor IPL devices that are a bit pricier may have quicker flashes, but that’s something I can live with. You have to go over each area 3x and I don’t suggest doing one area at once because it will get sensitive.
Overall, this product is worth it. I’ve spent so much money on waxing, razor subscriptions, shaving cream, ingrown hair tonics, and serums. I only wish I started sooner!!”
