“Purchased this a month ago. It's a very good filtration system. Some people have made negative comments regarding spillage etc. They've obviously not read the instructions. I am changing the lily pipes though as they don't really look good and don't come with appropriate fittings to make them look tidy. And I will suffer reduced flow because the pipe size will be different. But I have an excess flow and this was my intention. The most important factors are water quality + 10 and it is silent. Would I purchase another? Yes! A lot cheaper than other brands for what is essentially a plastic tub. I'm happy with it.”
“Can’t fault the canister filter, just that the hoses were bigger than my old ultra max but the spray bar and fittings were to small to fit new size hoses, don’t know what the hell happened!!”
“drain and inlet pipes and their assembly are not satisfactory, I would even say that they are tragic, on the nozzles it is not a good idea. in addition, the water dispersion pipe consists of several smaller ones and the elbow does not hold completely and the pressure pushes them out. I had to combine and from the old filter I cut out a holder for the pipes and now they are stable.”

“I purchased 2 Ultramax for my 500l Discus Aquarium which is fairly well stocked. Filled both with 6kg of biohome media, with just sponges in the bottom tray. My water is absolutely crystal clear amazing change. A big plus for me is the large inlet chamber. I was able to put a large piece of coarse sponge in this which acts as a pre-pre filter. The main pre filter is very good but I've not bothered to open that yet. I will also add that the team at Urmston Aquatics were fantastic in getting these filters to me promptly.”
