What is Wella Color Xpress?
Wella Color Xpress is a revolutionary colour innovation designed to deliver beautiful, professional results in just 10 minutes. Powered by ControlX™ Technology, it uses a fast-acting alkaliser called ammonium carbonate that acts like a super magnet - pulling colour dyes together quickly to form colour molecules fast, without over-processing. Can I get a lighter colour on my own?
If you have natural/virgin hair that has never been coloured, we may be able to lighten your hair up to three shades/levels with your choice of a warm, neutral or cool colour result. This is equivalent to going from dark brown to light brown, light brown to medium blonde, or medium blonde to the lightest blonde. Please note this is only possible if there is no previous dye in your hair.To get a dramatically lighter result and/or lighten previously coloured hair, this would require additional lightening work.
Can I get a natural look with this service?
Yes - with Wella Professionals’s Color Xpress you absolutely can achieve a natural, seamless finish. The service uses a palette of neutral shades formulated to blend with your existing colour, delivering up to 100% grey‑coverage in just 10 minutes - all while maintaining a soft, natural tone.
If you’re after subtle regrowth coverage, a refreshed root color, or just a clean up between full‑colour visits - this is the go‑to.
How often will I need to touch up?
To continue with a uniform colour look, we recommend getting this done every 6-10 weeks depending on the speed of your hair growth, amount of greys and whether you are going for a natural look or rocking a darker colour. Your Stylist will advise the best maintenance schedule for your hair.
Will this package work for very dark hair?
Absolutely! The Colour Express Retouch service uses a clever 10-minute colour formula designed to blend beautifully with dark hair while covering greys and softening regrowth. It works best when you’re refreshing your natural shade or keeping things looking seamless between full colours. If you're after a dramatic lightening effect though, your stylist may recommend a different service - but for a quick refresh? This one’s a winner.

When can I have my appointment?
Although opening hours vary slightly per salon, every VIVO salon is open Tuesday through Saturday. Late night and morning appointments are available. Please see salon opening hours here. To check appointment availability, please call 0800 400 300.
What other hair services can I get at VIVO?
We offer a comprehensive range of hair services, including style cuts and trims, permanent and semipermanent colours, foils, balayage colouring, blowdries, straightening and curling with ghd hot tools, upstyling, chemical permanent straightening and keratin smoothing treatments, perms, and a selection of nourishing treatments.
Are there any extra charges?
All essentials like shampoo, head massage and styling are already included in the package price. However, if you have long (below shoulder) and/or very thick hair, and/or extended regrowth, an extra charge from $25 would apply to cover the cost of the additional colouring product. We will advise you before we start - or you don't have to pay the extra.

What is the background of VIVO Stylists?
To join the VIVO team, all stylists must pass a comprehensive trade test with a VIVO Master Stylist where they demonstrate their mastery in cutting, colouring and styling. All Stylists then undergo continuing education with our national Training and Development Program. This covers both technical aspects, including all classic hair services and brand new innovative techniques in cutting, colouring and styling - and VIVO philosophy, which is centered around understanding the clients' needs and desires, and tailoring a personalised style just for them.
