“I was attracted to this particular listing because it said "Boat slip" in the title of the ad and we were planning to bring our boat. Unfortunately, we were not told that there was a broken lift in the slip and that the City of Jamaica Beach would not allow us to put our boat in at the marina/boat launch there. We were stopped by police and told the fine could be as much as $500 and that, as renters, we could not obtain a permit. They said the rental company had to take care of it. I actually called Ryson several weeks before our stay and asked if we needed a code or key or anything to launch our boat and was told we did not. Also, this is a 2 (maybe 3) bedroom house. The downstairs area is supposed to sleep 3, but it is so disgustingly moldy smelling that we could not get it aired-out or febreezed enough to use it. Because we couldn't use the downstairs room, an adult had to share a closet-sized room with a kid she was unrelated to. I wouldn't even consider that a bedroom since it does not have a window. On the positive side, the brand new luggage lift was a life saver. Loved having the washer and dryer on the main living floor. Sheets, towels and pillows were soft and good quality.”
