The house was clean and beautifully decorated. Beds and couches were comfy and perfect after a day at the beach and exploring souvenir shops. As we arrived on the evening before Memorial Day, the island was obviously packed with people and the street it is on is the main road that goes through Galveston into Jamaica Beach (where the house is located). I knew it was across the street from the beach, but didn’t realize it was the main thoroughfare (I should have checked, first, I know but it was only a few weeks advance planning and a holiday weekend, so I was happy to just find a nice, quiet spot.) which until after Memorial Day was very busy and definitely not safe to just walk across. We still chose to drive one of our cars to the lots at the beach, rather than walk, through the week of our stay. When Tuesday hit, it quieted way down and we were very pleased with the lack of tourists and location of the beach - let me clarify that I grew up near the beach in Florida and typically look for quieter locations near tourist destinations. It was a beautiful strip of sand sea that my teens and 5 year-old spent nearly every day of the week we were there on. We opted not to get the pool passes that are offered with the Marina. I don’t recommend the restaurant at the Marina, though... head to Nate’s or up to the main strip for Gaido’s for better food and service. The gift shop is small but has lots of nice shirts, while the convenience store to the west of the house has good beach gear. Would recommend this location if you’re looking for a quiet spot and don’t mind being on the main road, just be aware if you have smaller children because of the road, especially.

The house is well equipped and located for a stay in Galveston. It's far enough away from town to get away from busy beaches, but close enough to enjoy the in town attractions. Do bring food with you though, as options nearby are limited

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Adagio! It was the perfect size for our family (5 kids)...not huge but plenty of room to spread out! The beach is within walking distance but we did end up usually driving there and then one parent and the kids would walk back to avoid getting a ton of sand in the car. We really enjoyed having the outdoor shower and water hose to spray ourselves and beach items off when we returned to the house. We used the community tennis courts a few times and wished we had more time to do some fishing back in that area. We ended up running into some friends also staying in Sea Isle who said there were some fishing spots back in that area of the community that didn't require a key to the dock. AC worked great...we found ourselves turning the temp up because we were getting too cold! Make sure you bring extra papertowels, trashbags, and laundry/dishwasher soap! It is about a 25 minute drive back to Galveston for food/supplies. There is a Dollar General a little closer but still a drive. All in all we had a great experience with Ryson and will definately rent through them again!
