Overall a great chair. The difference in posture I get from this vs the ‘gaming chair’ I made do with at home is immediately obvious. I find it takes some conscious effort to use an ergonomic chair correctly at first, but even after week one my back was grateful. The ‘butterfly back’ (basically a mesh) is extremely comfortable and supportive, same as the seat base. Generally the adjustability is really good, and particularly the thigh-length adjustment is the most comfortable I’ve ever used. If you’re over 6ft and/or have a long back or narrow shoulders you may find the arm rests do not adjust high or narrow enough - both are only just enough for me. The back-tilt locking mechanism doesn’t completely prevent tilt, it just confines it to a very small angle. This is by design. I prefer a true zero-tilt option but they’re hard to come by. The forward tilt is new to me but I’ve found it’s been very good at keeping my back in a supported position, as I often lean forward while typing without realising. The default casters for carpet work great on our medium-pile carpet. I’d definitely pay for the upgrade for hard floors or low pile, though.
