“Yes I got the awful fishy smell too when it came out of the bag. Having said that it’s beautiful and I’m keeping it. Just a huge cut above other versions I’ve seen so worth the price. I’m an 8 and got the xs - I’d say it’s generous enough to wear over everything but the chunkiest knits and as I wanted to layer it over shirts and under a coat I think it was the right choice to size down.”
“I knew when I saw this gilet in the most recent lookbook I needed one. It was more than I would usually want to pay for one especially synthetic but I just love the simple lines and knew it would be well made.
Luckily I had a discount code so that helped.
Ordered and it duly arrived, so excited BUT upon opening the smell was quite overpowering. I’m not sure if it was a combination of the materials used or just the packaging but it was very fishlike. I hung it up for a couple of days to help with the odour before trying it on. I can honestly say it fits like a dream and is everything I hoped it would be.
I could only give a 5 ⭐️ review as giving lower on account of the smell would just be petty.
I’ve spritzed it a couple of times with some environmentally friendly clothes spray and it’s nearly ready for a day out.
As sizing goes initially I was going for an XL but decided to go with the sizing chart which recommended a large. I’m an 18 and the L is just right.

“As soon as I saw this I fell in love with the simplicity of the design….when it arrived I loved it even more, however, the smell of the garment was quite unpleasant when unpacked, I can only liken the smell to dead fish. I’m hoping the odour disappears as I really have no intention of returning it.
Sizing was spot on - I chose L and I’m a true 18. I can see this being one of my go to garments.”
“I hesitated about this as I thought it was expensive compared to similar gilets, but I thought I could send it back if necessary. I have nit. It is beautifully made with leather trims around the edges and on the back of the bottom holes. I most certainly has a luxurious feel to it. I love it.”

“I was torn between the colours of this waistcoat but eventually settled on the navy. Definitely a decision I haven’t regretted, it seems to go with everything.
I am usually a 12/3 so ordered a m. It’s lovely, a bit loose but will be able to go over a thicker jumper later in the year. It’s surprisingly warm and will definitely go well under my Diane coat from last year. Love it.”
“I bought the navy Ginny Borg gilet in size small, I’m usually a size 10/12, I love it, yes there are many others out there on the market but this one in my opinion is the one! It’s classic, it will never go off trend, you can literally wear it all year, today I wore it over a cotton blouse, it’s a very warm October here in Wales, went off to Cowbridge which is an exclusive shopping town, mostly independence, without a word of a lie everyone asked me where I got my Gilet, for sure it’s a winner. The small I can wear with a reasonably junky jumper and it will button up too, thank you Wyse. X”
