“High-quality parts! That set includes all you need for this "rebuild". Very usefull and clear video guide in x8r youtube channel. Delivery was also fast to finland”
“The installation video is deceiving at best.
First, Getting the old paddle and lever off can be difficult. Using a standard pliers is of no value unless your car has 30K miles on it. The plastic breaks leaving you with nothing to grip and the lever cone is almost fused to the paddle.
I had to use a hack saw blade to carefully cut the valve flap in the middle, (BE SURE NOT TO DAMAGE THE PADLE SEALANT!!)
I was then able to remove the top half, leaving the bottom half stuck in the housing. I then had the ability to lift out the bottom plastic lever, but only after I had chipped away the lever flange.
Note, be sure not to chip or scratch any of the plastic sleeves in the housing where the new parts go. Carefully chip away with a nibbling tool the flange of the bottom lever so that it will slide through the housing upwards without damaging it.
Second, There is also no illustration on what position the valve is in during reassembly. See the comments on the video to confirm where yours should be
.
Third, DO NOT install the new rubber gasket without removing the old gasket material. The video shows this going over the material. You can guarantee a leak if you do that. CLEAN IT GOOD BEFORE INSTALLING RUBBER O RING GASKET.
Last,
Be extremely careful not to damage the orange gasket material where the flap seats in the housing. You will notice it is very precise how the flap fits when closed.
Damaging it will reduce your vacuum when the flap is closed.
That being said, once it was installed my E46 M54 325XI ran like an animal. Super smooth acceleration and a perfect hum at idle.
Excellent product, just a real poor job at writing and creating the installation video.”
