HFS: Road Running Shoe Men's Sizing Tips
*For the best fit we recommend going up half a size.“HFS” may be short for “Happy Feet Shoes,” “Hyper Flexible Soles,” or, more likely, what you’ll exclaim when you try this 7.0 ounce (M9) true road runner, “Holy ___ ___!” Your feet will love the natural comfort of the wide toe box and zero-drop design. The tire-inspired tread keeps you sure-footed. The 37.5® sockliner and breathable engineered mesh keep you cool. Hidden instep and mid-foot tensioners give you the security you need to go for that new personal best.

Excellent on the road. Not to hard on the feet

Having worn Vibram 5 Fingers Trail Running Shoes for the past 7 years I was seeking a minimalist shoe with a little more foot protection. I have been wearing a pair of HTS for the past 4 weeks and have been very impressed with the quality and performance of these shoes for both on and off-road running. I'm consistently clocking up 5 runs a week, varying in time from 1 to 4.5 hours per run. I'm predominantly running trails on a mix of rocky and softer, swampy and hilly single tracks. I've also used these on bike/foot paths when the trails run out. Here's my verdict: Pros: - Lightweight - Good Drainage in wet conditions - Minimalist yet still offer protection for the feet/toes - Sturdy: I have put these through all types of terrain (except snow) and they have withstood the punishment remarkably well. - Comfortable: I have a wide foot, however these have a nice wide forefoot section (toe box) which allows my forefoot and toes to spread while also offering protection (see above). Wide lace region allows you to customise the fit to your foot shape. Easy to clean and dry fast - Great after-sales service: I purchased two different sizes to ensure I got a correct fit. Exchanging the second pair once I had the right size was easy and quick. Cons: - Sizing: go big! I'm traditionally a size 12.5 US and the size 14 in the Xeros is my fit. I would recommend ordering two different sizes and exchanging the pair that doesn't fit as you'll then have a spare pair when the first pair eventually wear out. Cost: relatively expensive for a fairly basic shoe, but the Pros (above) justify the price.
