“This is a great vest. It has 425 material on the inside for warmth and then it has the Z700 material on the front and back for water resistance and wind blocking. The warmth of this vest is surprising. I feel it is very important to get the fit of a vest correct so that the wind can not blow under it. The vest gits exactly the same as other ZR pieces so you do not have to worry about the vest being too big.
This vest is similar in warmth to the Z500 vest, but the Z500 is a bit looser fitting so that changes things. For me, the Z500 is a layering piece, whereas the Z710 is more of a standalone piece. I use the ZR pieces standalone and together to achieve what I am looking for on a given day - this vest is a great addition when you are looking to keep your core warm without and bulk on your shoulders and/or arms.”
