I have a Workhorse liner in a S Pro Alpha 120. At first, I was not used to how stiff the combination is (I'm coming from a hybrid touring boot that has probably gotten too soft over my constant use in 5+ seasons). I might have also overtightened my buckles as the liner is a lot thicker than stock. Fortunately, my boot buckles could be extended further and that helped a lot. I'm still getting used to the shell/liner combination but I notice my feet doesn't get as tired after skiing vs. my old setup, presumably because my feet are not swimming around in a packed out liner anymore. I also added a spoiler as I felt the Workhorse made me stand a little too upright. The spoiler is held in place by some small pieces of velcro I stuck onto the black "plastic" parts of the liner and further secured by wrapping the Zipfit strap around the spoiler. Overall it has been great and heel and locked in.

Love these so far. I have 17 days in them this season (purchased late season). Paired with Nordica Promachines. They work exactly as everyone says. They create an excellent hold of the ankle and heel, and the cork is excellent for increasing precision and energy transfer while also being very comfortable overall. The Promachines are a couple seasons old, and I skiied the stock liner, which is great. However, it was on its way out and I wanted to replace with a Zipfit for the long-term, so I chose the Workhorse because I like the use of leather (reminded me of my hockey skates, which like ski boots, require a precise fit). My Promachines fit great out of the box and required no mods. However, I did have to mod the shell slightly after moving to the Zipfit. The seam on the Zipfit between the leather and neoprene goes right over the end of the bone on the very outside of the foot right before the step down to the heel region (just up from the instep buckle line on the lower shell). This is the only spot on my foot that has a very slight protrusion. It was not a problem with the stock liner because the seam on it was in a different spot and used less volume there to fit in the unmodified shell comfortably. However, the Zipfit put just enough extra volume in this area to make it a very uncomfortable hot spot for me, which I didn't realize until I actually started skiing them (thought break-in might solve, but no). I solved this by simply heating the shell with a heat gun in just this region and pushing it out a bit by hand with a leather ski glove on. Only needed a little bit, any more would have required a punch tool at a shop (like I said, fine prior to the zipfit so we are just talking about very small adjustments). After that, everything has been incredibly comfortable, warm, and precise. Skiing is great. I have been on a couple long inbounds bootpacks in Utah too, so walking is good. Love them all day. Looking forward to many years using these. Very happy with the investment. I am a 46-year old dad. My 16-year old daughter also has Zipfit Corsas this year paired with her Atomic Redster CS boots and she loves them too with one full season in them behind her now. She got her Corsas at the beginning of the season along with new boots. I got my Workhorses later in the season after seeing her experience, but just replaced the liner of my existing boot. Both the Workhorse and Corsa have leather interiors, so "World Cup step-in" (putting liner on outside the shell and then stepping into the shell) is recommended and probably necessary. This took me some getting used to, but was fine after the first couple times out. It is definitely not as easy for me as some people make it look with an effortless step into a race boot and no hands used. My daughter pretty much steps her Corsas right into her Redsters, but with my Promachines, I have to pry apart the shell over the instep pretty far to get in. I don't know how I would get these into a shell that uses BOA and I don't plan to find out. A little clutsy, but once in, they feel great. Getting out is the reverse, but goes much easier and does not require prying the instep. I just lean forward and push the back of the boot cuff. First few times doing this outside at the car is a pain, but you figure it out quickly. Overall, small price to pay for comfort, warmth, and most importantly, long-term precision of fit. My only regret is that I did not move to these sooner.

Ski boot shell: Atomic Hawx ultra 120 Lower leg and foot volume: Chichen legs Skier type: intermediate-advanced Tl;dr. Amazing Heel retention is the best. With my old liners, i had to tighten my boots every 2-3 runs. Not anymore. I set my boots in the morning and i don't touch them for the hole day. Don't panic, if they don't feel amazing in your first day. They will break in and you will never want to ski without then ever again!

Another great offering from Zipfit. While I've only had a handful of days in them so far, I think they are built even better than my previous Zipfits - if that's even possible. This is my 4th pair of liners from Zipfit. My first pair were the foam injected version back in the 90's. In 30 years, I've only worn out 3 Zipfit liners and I work on the hill logging over 70 days annually. Maybe not the best business model :-) but these things are bomber. And there is no comparison to the moldable cork filling. Hand down the best fitting liner you'll ever own. They may be expensive up front but are unquestionably the best value of anything else by leaps and bounds. The fellas that answer the phone are very knowledgeable and will help you pick the right liner for your foot and skiing style. Don't hesitate - get a pair now!!
