The Ski Boot Horn is the best solution for both stepping into your ZipFits and once your liners are laced up, stepping into your ski boot shells. We tested a number of solutions for stepping into our shells with our liners on — the Ski Boot Horn is the easiest and reduces wear and tear along the heel of your Zips.

I would not be able to get my workhorse zipfits in my Tecnica Cochise 130 shells without this boot horn. It makes my day so much easier.

The boot horn makes it easy to get the liner into the shell, but I hope it last.

Stepping into my GFT liners while these are already in my Technica Zero G shells is quite difficult. It is very tight, tighter than with the original liners, in which I can step in quite smoothly. ZipFit advises to take the liner out of the shell, then first step into the liner and then, with your foot in the liner, step into the shell. This will diminish the pressure you put on the heel cup while stepping in. So I gave it a try. Comes in the boot horn. The horn makes stepping in a lot easier. But it feels a little clumsy the first few times. In fact you need to hold the boot horn with one hand so it doesn't slide down while you push your liner into the shell, and open the instep of the shell with your other hand at the same time to make more space. In the beginning it feels like you need three hands. And you need to keep your balance at the same time (for me it works best standing with by boot right under me. Once you practice a few times it works just fine. The horn is very light and quite thin so I just keep it in my backpack. I have just used it for 10 days so can't say much about durability, but it looks like it will keep going for a long time. If you want to step in this way then I strongly recommend you try it with the boot horn as it will make it a lot easier.
