I have been a cycling enthusiastic for over 4 decades and have gone to many and various types of organized bicycle rides. I was told about this particular ride some time ago and have finally taken it. There are a bunch of tour companies that provided this route. However we chose the Grasshopper tour because they included a hiking, canoeing and also a boat excursion on the tour. As expected, the spectacular views of the Gulf of Thailand was amazing. Grasshopper had assigned our tour leader (Seen) who was an excellent English translator and had taken great care of the entire group of riders. Our leader and the support team had kept the group out of any traffic dangers and well hydrated. Most importantly, constantly checking on everyone regarding our ability to continue as some of the route can be very challenging. Many thanks to Grasshopper and team for handling all the logistics to getting there and for a great ride, looking forward to future rides. Bob C.

This was my third multi-day Grasshopper bike trip. I have come to rely on the Grasshopper brand as meaning a well-planned tour, quality equipment and personable, knowledgeable guides. This tour had a variety of scenery as we traversed Thailand. The east coast had fishing villages, the center had rain forests, monkeys, and mountains. The east coast was idyllic beaches. All the while, we rode on excellent quality roads or paths and saw very little vehicle traffic. The quality of hotels along the way were consistently clean and comfortable with a basic breakfast offering. I would describe them as solid 3 star accommodations. I believe they were chosen because primarily of where we needed to spend a night to keep the tour on schedule. The lunches, dinners, and snack stops along the route were excellent. I am already making plans for Grasshopper Trip #4... this time Vietnam!

We had such a great time with the Grasshopper crew, all our needs were seen to with a smile and a laugh. We loved seeing the side of Thailand that tourists do not usually see, and loved Mr Wut referring to us as "travellers" not tourists. The guides are very knowledgeable and the meals organised were authentic and delicious. Highly recommended for a great family experience and a complete break from the mundane. Thank you Grasshoppers!!!

We did a private tour as we had 10-year-old biking with us, but the route was similar to the standard Bangkok - Phuket Tour. It was a great biking trip, extremely diverse and never got boring: wine tasting, temples visiting, caves climbing, canoeing, jungle housing, biking along empty endless beaches, lunching in remote fishermen's villages and whatnot. We saw a lot of most beautiful and unique places. The route is pretty simple, mostly hilly-flat, it's perfect for traveling with the family, kids, and friends as it never gets too exhausting. The biggest distance per day was around 70 km plus, couple of times. These were big days full of events, places, good food and lots of fun. The trip is well spread in terms of intensity so you can overcome all the typical biking pains in a very natural way without suffering. By the way, we traveled in monsoon season, which was our concern at first, but it turned out just great - we had occasional showers, which was fun, but mostly fresh, warm and not so hot weather with cloudy skies preventing you from too much sun. The team of guides (Tick and Eddy) were amazing people, emphatic and caring and literally guessing every wish of ours. It will be one of the best memories of my life.
