In 2020 my Barclaycard rate was 8%. In 2023 my rate increased to 13.25%. Now, as a Barlclaycard customer for 7 years, with a high credit score, regular use, and regular monthly payments, I am being informed that my rate will increase to 18.25% by October, unless I cancel the card -- a 10% increase in four years. I think this is a terrible way to treat a loyal customer who has frequently used the card, and made regular monthly payments on balances. It feels like a bait and switch. We'll get you on board with a low rate and then over time increase your rate. Of course the APR has gone up. But 10% in four years? I am very disappointed in Barclay and feel taken advantage of as a good customer. I will have to decide by October whether to cancel the card.
