I pay my account in full every month. In June, for some reason, I scheduled my payment to SEND on the due date instead of being delivered on the due date - my fault, and I took ownership of it. After years of on-time payments, one would think Barclays MIGHT cut me some slack. They charged me a huge interest fee for June, a late fee, and even though my account was paid in full (a day EARLY) in July, I was charged "Residual Interest" on an account where there was no balance. We closed both of our accounts. We pay a yearly fee for the AA Aviator MC, not worth it. Terrible business practices and lousy customer service (and we don't travel so, American Airline miles don't do us much good...).
